Inspired by “The gilded age” greeting card

Today’s card is an elegant beauty! It was inspired by photos of gowns from a drama called “The gilded age”. (I’ve never seen the show, only the photos of the gowns.) The costumes are gorgeous – beautiful, rich colors with gorgeous trim and details. Wow! This encouraged me to bring out a sheet of flocked paper I’ve been saving for an age and pair it with rich-colored card stock and other elegant details.

It was almost a shame to cover that patterned paper but I forced myself to add the two die-cut tiles cut from Blackberry Bliss card stock. To this, I added a piece of vellum paper as a foundation for an elegant tag and this foiled sentiment. A little black thread to tie in the black of the flocked paper and a few clear gems were the perfect embellishments to finish it off.

Now that I’ve finally cut into that paper, perhaps I will be a little bolder about using the rest of the sheet!

Thank you for your visit today! Do you have supplies that are patiently waiting to be used? If so, I’d love to hear about it and know I’m not alone! 🙂
