Ink blended silhouette sympathy card

I recently watched a video reel in Instagram of a crafter creating a clean and simple (CAS) card using ink blending to create a solid patch of color. I would love to be able to give them credit for inspiring the card I will be sharing with you, but apparently I didn’t save the video and cannot find it again. Yikes! Just know I appreciate their idea and would give them props if I could!

To create the color block, I created a mask using a piece of acetate and a small square die. I then blended on Salty Ocean, Chipped Sapphire and Ground Espresso Distress Oxide Inks. To make sure my stamping stayed solid, I used a heat tool to dry the inks then stamped a silhouette leaf image using Versafine Onyx Black ink. To finish, I added a die cut leaf, the sentiment (a pre-printed one from Simon Says Stamp)and three copper sequins.

It was truly a quick and simple card to make but I think it looks striking in its simplicity. To change the mood or occasion, try selecting different colors of ink, adding a bright white die cut and/or changing the sentiment. So many options in one little card to make it all yours. Enjoy!
