Goodness! Can you believe it’s already the end of May? Last year seemed to take forever, but this one seems to be speeding along! With the end of this month looming, I’m looking forward to the special days of June and thought I would get a start on making Father’s Day cards. This year, I will be sending cards to my brothers as well as our dad; they are all wonderful fathers and I want to remind them all how much I appreciate them.
The fun image on this card is from a Stampin’ Up! set called A Cut Above. My younger brother has a great back yard with space for the wildlife and for people. I’m hoping he will have a relaxing day enjoying that wonderful space and making memories with his family. Note: The man in the stamped image doesn’t have a beard; I improvised and colored that area in along with his hair. Now it looks just like him! haha

The layout is based on this sketch at Freshly Make Sketches. If you have visited my blog at all, you know I love to play along with their sketches and this week’s open space leaves you lots of room for interpretation. I decided to make my card a small slimline card (3″ x 5-1/2″) which necessitated expanding the frame to fit the image and greetings. To see more ideas and/or play along, I encourage you to visit their site! Have fun!

Such a wonderful way to use the sketch. Love this fun scene. So glad you joined us this week at FMS!
