Sending a little sunshine today
When I saw the latest FMS sketch, this hive came to mind as the perfect piece for the ‘circle’ on the sketch. This bee is so pretty so I knew I had to use it, too! It’s such a delicate cut, but by cutting two layers – one from heavy card stock and a second from glossy black paper (glued together) – I was able to add it to the design as a focal point.
To help balance out the color, I added a circle cut from the same glossy paper and a pre-printed sentiment from Simon. Layered in the mix is a bit of copper thread and just a few gems for fun.
Sidenote about the card front: I started with a piece of honeycomb patterned paper and added vellum over the design to help push it back a bit visually. See how the vellum is pulling up in the two corners? Well, after this photo was taken, I dared to add a smudge of art glitter designer glue in both corners and dabbed off the glue with my finger, just leaving the paper a bit sticky. This was enough for the vellum to stick in those two places without showing through the vellum! Yay! Thought I’d mention it in case it’s something you struggle with 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
