“Just a Note” greeting card inspired by…

There are so many wonderful crafters out there. I have quite a few bookmarked for inspiration and enjoy seeing different styles and ways to use our supplies. I find myself studying their projects to figure out how to add more details to my own cards or combine favorite images and techniques in ways I wouldn’t have considered. I thought I would start sharing links occasionally in case they are inspiring to you, too!

One of the cardmakers in my bookmarked “design” folder is Narelle Farrugia. Her style includes clean use of color (great use of white space), thoughtful layering and an understated use of embellishments for that special touch. She’s a part of a few design teams and I’m always amazed at how she can take a layout (or color challenge) and do something surprising with it. (Check out this FMS challenge, for example. It’s awesome!)

Earlier this month she posted a beautiful Love your Kindness card that really caught my eye. Using a basic sketch, she added her creative touch resulting in yet another card that inspired me to head straight to my stamps.

I’m hopeful this any occasion card will be a bright and cheerful hug in someone’s day. Once done, I pulled out other supplies and used the same layout to create a tropical birthday card. Both cards were actually great stash-busters, so I encourage you to break out those paper scraps, die cuts and sentiments and give Narelle’s card a try!
