Paola’s Wishes – slimline cards

Slimline cards are all over the place now and I thought I would try my hand at making a few. I have two to share with you today, both are for any occasion and feature sentiments from Paola’s Wishes (Mama Elephant). This great set includes 8 greetings in a beautiful, flowy font. So pretty!

For both cards, I started by blending Distress Oxide inks onto card stock using a blending brush. I started by applying the lighter of two colors then added a darker color around the outer edges. I then added just a hint of pattern using a stencil with the darker ink. This first card features some of my favorite critters from Penny Black, Inc. I’ve had this set (just for you) for ages and always enjoy coloring it up.

This second card was inspired by Jennifer McGuire videos and her love for layering die cuts. I added Simple Stem die cuts (Simon Says Stamp), a thin border and clear sequins for a bit of sparkle. It’s clean but pretty and I look forward to making more of these with this and other leaf/floral dies.
