Coffee is a hug in a mug

About 20 years ago, there was a period of time where I stayed with my parents while my husband started a new job and we awaited the birth of our second son. During that time, my dad would swing by the house around 3:00pm and we would enjoy a cup of coffee and chat before he headed back out to work. I no longer live close enough to him to be able to enjoy afternoons like that, but I can tell you with frightening accuracy when 3:00 rolls around because of the coffee craving that hits!

Fun image, isn’t it? This little guy is part of a set which includes the sentiment, “feeling slothy NEED coffee!”. It’s so fun to use but this time I paired it with the sentiment you see which is from Coffee Love by Altenew. It comes on one stamp so I fussy-cut it, allowing a little more freedom in placement.

For those of you who enjoy coloring, here’s a closeup of the sloth along with the Copic Markers used to color him:

Aw, he’s cute right? I’m looking forward to sending this card to my dad to thank him for his efforts and the wonderful memories of that time spent together. But I’m not sure if I’ll be thanking him for my afternoon coffee habit… 😉

I’m linking my card today to the Global Design Team challenge to include an animal on your project. For more inspiration and join the challenge, click here to be directed to their site. Enjoy!
