I had a fail and a win today. The fail? I tried subbing out regular milk with an almond/coconut milk in my chai recipe. So, so sad. It was thinner, not as creamy and simply not as yummy. Boo… But while it was simmering (and I was still hopeful it would work), I took the time to play with a winning sketch over at Fab Friday. I’m much happier with these results!
This sketch is nice and open, leaving lots of room for interpretation! First the sketch, then I’ll show you my take on it 🙂
Nice, right? Small images, large images or no images and some pretty die cuts or paper instead! For me, I practiced coloring Cup of Java (Penny Black) with an assortment of Copic markers. In the end, I needed a bit more color on my card front, so I added a scrap of patterned paper behind the focal image layer. Hope you like it!
Just for the record, I use a much smaller cup when I have my chai. But it is also true that I usually refill the cup…
