Stamp Review Crew – Varied Vases Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Today I’m thrilled to be sharing ideas as part of a blog hop with the Stamp Review Crew. If you’ve just landed here from Mike’s blog – welcome! (You just jumped three time zones!) If you are new to us and are wondering what this is about, we are an international group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who link up twice a month to share a variety of ideas using a specific stamp set. This time, Varied Vases is our set of choice. Such versatility in this set… just wait until you see the projects we have shared!

My first card was created with the idea of a wreath in mind. I worked out the layout using a Jennifer McGuire video as a springboard for how to use the stamping platform to stamp my images. Then it was just a simple matter of choosing the stamps and inks I wanted to use to keep it light and airy! The center flowers in Berry Burst were punched out using the coordinating punch for this set. Easy, peasy! Here’s a closer look:

For a completely different look, I wanted to try something soft like watercolor. I used the brush tip of Stampin’ Write Markers to ink the stamps, stamped, then dabbed the image with a small, damp paint brush to help the colors spread a bit. For this technique, it’s key to remember that watercolor is often about providing the impression of an item as opposed to a clearly defined image.

I hope you have enjoyed the cards I shared today and have some ideas of how you can use Varied Vases. For more inspiration, let’s visit Mickey Robert’s post.

    • Thank you, Linda! I got the idea from Art Impressions. Helped me to see new possibilities in our floral/fauna images!

  1. Your cards are beautiful, Adriana! I love how you stamped the first card. It is so delicate and feminine. The watercolor technique on the second card is so soft and stunning!
